a Bit about me, my name is Robert Mccrory, I was born in Glasgow in 1972 and moved to Perth in 1976. my family ensured I never forgot my roots and where I was from. my working life began as a paper boy when I was 14. I was one of three paper boys but as time went on and other boys left I assumed their rounds (and their wages) and enjoyed all early morning outings regardless of the weather. after a few failed attempts at learning a trade I became a window cleaner and thrived in the world of straight up work for straight up money! along the way I met some very interesting people and experienced some very memorable situations!
I later got married and set up a tobacconist shop with my wife where my father helped with his life experience and wisdom. Again it was a fantastic opportunity to see and meet all sorts of people and gain even more experience of people and their "different" ways while spending quality time with my dad. great memories...
inevitably the tobacco trade became so restricted that the business became quite unviable so I pursued my interest in home baking and accomplished my apprenticeship as an artisan bread baker at Casella & Polegato, Perth.
the experience was awesome although a baptism of fire from my Italian master baker but an education for which I am forever grateful. sadly after three years of this my body could not sustain the pressure and in 2019 I became a paper boy again! I still enjoy life working early mornings with a fantastic team of pensioners that like to talk and laugh about the slightly strange and ever-changing world around us!
This leaves me plenty of time for my passion of photography and getting out and about and trying to capture things I can identify with, share and find out who else has a similar outlook.
